General Guidelines for the E-Correspondence / Online Education

All admissions are provisional subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria, furnishing as well as verification of relevant documentation and final realization of fees.

PAYMENT OF FEE

The semester wise fee is payable as per schedule notified.

The fee for next semester has to be paid before the start of examination of previous semester as per the date communicated by the university.

The first semester has to be paid at the time of admission.

Examination fee of Rs. 550/- per semester (subject to change) will be charged extra.

The fee once deposited in non refundable and shall not be adjusted or refunded.

EVALUATION PROCEDURE

The evaluation of the students would be done on continuous basis through assignments and end semester examination. The break up of evaluation would be as under :

For attempting the assignments one month's time would be given to the students. The students have the facility to submit the assignment either by Courier or registered post at respective Regional Centre/Learning Centre.

The end semester examination would be conducted twice in a year at the examination centers to be decided by the University. The students from abroad will also give the examination at the examination centers in India as decided by the University by making the related arrangements himself at their own expenditure.

If the student fails to clear the end semester examination or reappears in case of failure he or she will be allowed to reappear by paying the reappear fee as prescribed by University. The reappear examination would be conducted along with the end semester examination of the next batch viz two times in a year.

The evaluation and marks declared for end semester examination will be final and binding on the students. In any case, there will be no provision for re-evaluation.

 

INTERNATIONAL & OUTSTATION CANDIDATES : International or Outstation candidates may choose to appear in the examination once a year to avoid frequent travelling. It is also true that a candidate can choose to clear all the semester examinations at one go even subject to the course duration period is complete. The Internal assessment ( 25% ) for outstation candidates will be based on assignment and viva voce to be conducted online. For External practical and external written examination the candidate must have to be physically present at the university assigned examination center. Inclination to appearing in a particular semester examination will be accepted subject to prior intimation of the same 2 months before the end of any semester. Outstation candidate may attend the PCP ( Personal contact program ) one month before the end of any semester subject to prior intimation.

 

Grade of Pass Criteria:
 

The student will be declared pass in the semester examination only if he/she scores minimum 40% marks in each paper (Internal as well as External).

In case a student does not score 40% or above marks in any of the papers, he/she will have to re-appear in the subject/s.

The Final Examination answer script will not be shown to the students under any circumstances.

AWARD OF DEGREE/DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE

The Degree/Diploma/Certificate will be awarded to the student only if he/she has acquired a pass grade in all the end semester examinations.

The student will have to clear all the examinations within the maximum duration mentioned in the Programme details.

In the event that the student is not in a position to continue the programme that he/she sought admission to, the student will not be awarded Degree/Diploma/Certificate.


GENERAL GUIDELINES  

Medium of instruction for all programmes is English.
Age is no bar for admission to any programme.
The university reserves the right to update the programmes through changes in methodology, contents & structure from time to time.
It is not obligatory for the University to offer training on the modified/updated programmes to the students who have registered for an earlier version of the programme.
In case the University does not start any programme in a particular session which has been announced earlier, due to any reason whatsoever the student is eligible for the refund of fee.
The competent authority may change the provisions in this prospectus and website. The decision of the University shall be final and binding on all concerned.
For any clarification/dispute the decision of the Punjab Technical University shall be final & binding on all concerned.
All disputes shall be under the jurisdiction of Jalandhar Court of Law, Punjab, India.
The Punjab Technical University shall be the competent authority to amend , modify or interpret any of the above provisions.
The nomenclature of the programmes offered are as per UGC regulations, however the University reserves the right to follow direction of satutory authorities like UGC.
The University reserves the right to change the syllabus of the programmes and the content thereto with prior approval of the BOS. The students shall have to follow the revised syllabus for all purposes once it is implemented and announced.
